Lesson 1 — Introduction to BIM and Revit Workflow

Understand the BIM workflow and how Revit is used in architectural practice.

This session introduces the workflow used in architectural offices when working with Revit. Students will understand how BIM differs from traditional CAD-based documentation and how Revit allows architects to work with coordinated building models rather than disconnected drawings.

The session will explain how architectural models generate plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and sheet sets. Participants will also be introduced to the overall course structure and the design-to-construction documentation workflow that will be followed throughout the training.

During the session, the instructor will demonstrate the Revit interface and the basic navigation tools required to begin working inside a Revit project environment.

The class follows an interactive training format, where short demonstrations are followed by guided student practice.
